I joined Project X 1.0 with the expectation of getting my motivation back after a knee procedure in October, then knee surgery in December. While I tried to push through, I lost nearly all drive to do what I loved doing for so long and inevitably gained weight during this time. Fast forward to March of this year. I was trying to get myself to get back into the gym but was struggling. Stress at work, embarrassment from the weight I gained, timid being on the weight floor for the first time. I had done CrossFit for 3 years prior to all this, but there was no way I was jumping right back into that. I needed to rehab my knee properly. I had been receiving Diren’s emails and had wanted to train with him for a good while, but it just wasn’t feasible. Then I received his email about Project X 1.0. I signed up, completed the program, and got almost everything I expected. An incredible trainer, accountability, daily check ins, and a good training program. In these 8 weeks, I’ve lost 5.5 inches (13.97cm) and 8 pounds. I gained so much knowledge, accountability in counting my calories, getting my #neatup247, and the biggest, my motivation. What I didn’t expect was the incredible community of people from literally all around the world who I call my friends. They’ve become my people. Ones who I can open up to, talk about anything with, and know they’ve got my back from thousands of miles away. What an indescribable experience it has been and every single part has been worth it. When you become emotional at the end of an experience like this you know you’ve been impacted deeply by some incredible people and an amazing trainer. “You have to stop looking at being perfect.
