Throughout the 8 weeks I managed to lose a stone & 26 inches, change my habits and get my ass moving more! I work 14 hour days 4+ days a week and only manage about 3000 steps on those days and there isn't any way of upping them but I went on more walks than I ever have on my days off and with your podcasts I'm really enjoying them and will keep that habit up forever! Project X 3.0 has been such a fantastic life changing experience! Diren is a great coach - you get the whole package. He is someone who actually cares. He gives the right amount of tough love, he notices when you slack off, and gives you that little extra push to do get back on track and do better. And he actually knows what he is talking about!

With his help I have during the 8 weeks of project X 3.0 lost 6 kg, and gone down another jeans size! I have for the first time in forever worn a bikini, and felt good wearing it. I feel lighter, but stronger and much more comfortable in my own skin than I did last summer. I have not only changed physically, but mentally too. The level of accountability, the daily check ins and the weekly zoom calls has given me structure, which has made the entire journey so much easier, and despite my being in another country than Diren, exactly these check ins and zoom calls, gave me the feeling of him looking out and not leaving me alone with this. Also, the support from the rest of group has added tremendously to the progress. Ultimately, none of us are alone in our journey. There will always be people out there with similar issues and backgrounds, and when we together overcome our hurdles and achieve our goals, then the level of shared happiness and celebrations is out of this world.

Through project X I have learnt so much about training and calorie counting, that is has become a part of my new lifestyle. And it was so easy to incorporate into my life too... Project X gave me the tools to use to change my life around. It gave me my daily calorie goal for weight loss and for maintenance, it gave me a workout plan, and it helped me track my steps. When I think back, I am like "WOW!!!" I began with 10k steps a day, and all of a sudden, I am today going to do those 10k steps to the store to buy new jeans

Eight weeks ago I took the plunge and decided to put my training and accountability in Coach Kartal's hands. I had fallen victim to the quarantine blues and virtually quit moving other than to eat and complain all with the excuse of "it's a pandemic, this is a weird time to be alive and I just don't want to improvise and adapt." During that time I gained a good 5 pounds (doesn't sound much but when you're short, it finds a way to make you look bad).

Project X helped me unlearn bad habits and shed the unwanted quarantine weight quickly with great support and radical accountability. Now I'm back to a good weight with even better habits. Project X showed me just  how inactive I was on a day to day basis, even when the gyms were open. I went from averaging 3-6 thousand steps to hitting at least 10k a day but usually more than that. I'm not new to the fitness scene by any means but Coach Kartal was a life saver during this time; I'd hate to see where I'd be without him and Project X.

I’ve had a tough few years and as a result of which lost quite a bit of weight through not eating and lost my way with exercise, so for me this programme wasn’t about weight loss (although a couple of lb and a few inches isn’t a bad thing) but about getting stronger, learning the basics about what I need to do, having a focus and gaining the confidence around exercise. Project X did exactly that!!

Even when work and long hours got in the way and I hadn’t been able to fit everything in there was no stress as I know what Diren put in place works so it was so easy to pick it all back up, I found it was more of a way of life rather than feeling like I was doing an exercise programme.

Accountability was key and the tools you have available from this project are amazing for the price!

I won't lie - I was a little sceptical about handing over my money for Project X 1.0, alongside nervous and scared! Now, eight weeks later, I am SO happy that I was brave and joined this fantastic group! It has been worth every penny.

Diren is very funny but then serious when needed. He won't take any nonsense excuses but he will care about your progress and results. Diren is open, honest, knowledgable and approachable as a coach...as well as being incredibly pleasant to look at!!

I have gone from 12st 5lb to 10st 12lb in eight weeks! I feel much more comfortable in myself, stronger and a lot better than I did at the start of Project X 1.0. I didn't think that I would enjoy and use the competative side of the project as much as I have but once I made it into the Top 10 on the leaderboards...I wasn't leaving!

The daily accountability via the check-in form has been brilliant for me - I have never wanted to let myself, Diren or the group members down and it has really made me think about what I eat and how much I move every day.

I’ve always been into fitness my whole life but came to Diren for the accountability side. He took me from hitting around 4K steps a day to easily hitting 10-15K without even realising because it just became a habit we built up. He was on my case for the days I went off track with his straight talk approach but also by understanding what I was going through each day.

Thanks to Diren I can now easily adjust what I’m eating to move myself into either a calorie deficit or back to maintenance. He made tracking calories seem super simple and taught me to not feel guilty ever around food. I’ve learnt how to work my calories around my favourite foods and think any coach that can get you results whilst still allowing you your daily creme egg and many G&Ts is a keeper!

Diren really takes into consideration every little detail when designing a programme, encouraging dialogue and conversation in the process to ensure it is totally safe for you and sustainable. Since training with Diren, I have far more confidence to go to the gym and bust out the programme without a care in the world for what other people think, which was a definite limiting factor for me before. I have embraced #neatup247 as an integral part of my life and now am averaging over 20k steps a day FOR FUN. What can I say, project x 1.0 has been amazing for me, I have lost 12 lbs and that with having days when I’ve not tracked too. I’m very close to being fifty, i need two knee replacements too,I don’t want to be a fat fifty year old, on the path I’m going I’m sure I won’t.

You’ve kept me motivated, grounded and encouraged me, this is what I needed, a kind word here and there and a straight talking too when required. It’s the accountability of having to check in every night, having lives and Q&As with YOU. If I needed an answer to a question getting a reply from YOU directly not waiting 2 days for an automated reply made it what it is.

I have lost 10lbs, lost 13inches all over and gained a confidence that I can continue doing this myself. Yes I could have worked out more and drank less wine and got better results but it’s all about balance and I think Project-X allows for all of these things without feeling like you are giving up anything.

Down from 10st 2 to 9st 7 as of this morning (my goal weight for Project X) 11 POUNDS!!! but more importantly...

A total change in body composition, realisation that I can eat what I want as long as it’s in my calories (and how easy calorie counting becomes the longer you do it!), how happy workouts make me feel after I’ve done them (my anxiety has gone right down), how easy this is when you put some effort in and how much I’m enjoying the journey.

In addition to the above I have met a fabulous bunch of people who behind the scenes have motivated me, helped me, made me laugh, and have become friends. Can’t wait to carry on and see what I can achieve if I keep going!

All I can say is thank you my activity and neatup level has increased daily, I have more energy and really feel good mentality and physically so and I am off to make sure I get my steps in!

I lost 10lbs and 15 inches all together over the eight weeks and finally fit back into my old clothes comfortably which was my goal!! Thank you Diren.

I thank the day I joined TikTok and Diren came up on my FYPage. I started following him on Instagram and found out about his Project X. I signed up without hesitation. This was the turning point in my life and it came at just the right time. I had just come out of a 18 year marriage and needed something to get my life back on track. Not only has Diren and Project X helped with my weight loss, I have over the past 8 weeks learnt new eating habits, become more active and most of all changed my whole mindset on myself and life in general. I am eating more healthly within my calories but don’t feel guilty if I want the odd chocolate or ice cream. I am getting more active with my walking and gone from 3K steps to 25K steps per day. I did it!!!! I bloody did it!!!!! I STUCK TO A PLAN!!!! I cannot tell you how many 6/8/12 week challenges I have done in the past 2-3 years in a bid to lose this elusive stone that has been lurking on me. I get 4 weeks in, have a small loss, celebrate, put it back on - ditch the plan!! Not this time - I did the 8 weeks and I’m bloody buzzing about that!

The accountability in Project X is second to none. There’s no other group that you check in daily, and get called out if you don’t! The support from Diren is fantastic with Facebook lives, weekly check ins and weekly Q&As, plus he’s always on hand to answer questions if needed. The leaderboards keep you challenged to get your steps and workouts and the community (now friends!!) support is amazing.

I have lost 13lbs in the last 8 weeks and that has included 2 weeks of 50th birthday celebrations (with wine, cake, crisps, chips etc - see carbs are ok!!!). I wanted to hit my 50s without that stone and thanks to a little bit I lost before Project X - I did it!!! That stone is gone - FOREVER!!!

If you are thinking about Project X and thinking what’s different, why is this going to work more than any other plan I’ve done well if accountability is what you need to kick your ass, then accountability is what you will get. GO FOR IT!!!!

I have 3 children, the youngest being 14, not sure you can blame the mummy tummy for 14 years but I have been trying.  I’ve been yo yo dieting for longer than I care to remember, done low carb, got great results, couldn’t keep it up, tried paleo, wasn’t consistent, didn’t keep it up, tried clubs that you go to get weighed at each week, didn’t keep it up.  I had a gym membership I didn’t use.  So yeah I had all the tools I needed but still couldn’t do it.  I didn’t value my own wellbeing enough to commit.

I have been following Diren for a couple of years now and have always loved his energy and directness.  I suppose I’ve watched from afar and always thought I’d like to train with him.  Life gets in the way, a lot, and it never really happened.  Then at the start of April Diren started to post about Project X.  I was interested, 8 weeks, but it was the middle of the month.  I almost didn’t sign up, I almost said I’ll wait and see.  Then I thought, NO, invest in yourself now, stop putting it off.  A week of waiting to see what the programme would bring.  What did we get?? Well I got a personalised 4 day programme, it was designed around my aims and what equipment I had.  I got access to Diren’s new website, which has grown so much since then.  I have to upload my stats and calculate my calories for the day.  Nothing knew there.  Then, what I can only describe as, the best thing in the fitness industry right now was added in as a requirement, accountability.

To stay on Project X you have to fill in a form every day, yes every day!! If you didn’t you are out.  You have to log your steps, workouts, calories, but more importantly it asks how you are and how you can improve.   The sheer panic on everyone when our forms weren’t uploading or there were issues at the beginning was so stressful.  I was stressing out because I got called out, I had checked in, I can prove it, and then realised I was entering the wrong e-mail address on mine. I’m not gonna lie (yes I said that in Diren’s voice) the first few days, week or so were a bit scary.  No one wanted booted off the programme.  Then I got into the habit of getting my NEATUP, logging my calories, doing my workouts and generally being consistent.

We had live check-ins and Q&As with Diren twice a week.  And Diren posted little videos on the private Facebook group.  We set up a WhatsApp group. The people in our group are amazing, we have people from all over the world, in various time zones.  The family I now have are one of the reasons I have stuck at this.  I had sciatica from the start but about 5 weeks in it got really bad, walking used to ease it, now it doesn’t.  I e-mailed Diren and got a response almost straight away – Don’t worry about it, just be consistent with your steps and calories and CHECK IN!!  So I did.  Before Project X I would’ve given up, sat wallowing in self-pity and ate myself into oblivion.  This time I had Diren making sure I stayed on track and a group of, until 27th April, complete strangers having my back.

Project X has been the best thing for me in a long time.  I’ve lost 7.3kg so far and 7 inches overall.  But more importantly I’m being consistent and holding myself to account.  Diren has struck gold with this one and I’d recommend anyone who needs help to jump on the next Project X, if you do what you’re asked to do you will see fantastic results.  I am so happy to be moving on to Project Lifestyle now.  DIren has given me the tools I need to keep going and I am so grateful to him for that.  He’s an absolute legend #NEATUP247 #PROJECTXOGs

At the end of 2019 I was 11st 1 and very much looking forward to seeing my son and his family family in Australia in Feb/Mar 2020, who I hadn’t seen for 3 years. By the time we left my weight crept up to 11st 9 but I wasn’t too bothered as I would work it off when I returned to the UK. As it happened I came back at 11st 8, so was pleased that I had maintained.

And then covid-19 hit.

I was all over the place - i am a people person and a creature of habit. I trained 5-6 times a week and enjoyed meeting with friends and family and like turning off a light switch, my world changed over night. I had to get my head around working from home, working out without any equipment and not being able to see anyone. My headspace was not good and my eating very quickly got out of control. My weight had crept up to 11st 13 and I knew I needed to take things in hand - hopefully not a chocolate bar! (In fact, in the time between signing up for Project X 1.0 and starting the program I needed to email Diren to increase my starting weight!)

Enter Diren and his Project X.

I have been following him for a while, along with James Smith and was lucky enough to have my photo taken with them both at James’ book signing last year. They both bounce off each other so well, but I think Diren is the cheeky one and I loved the warm up stuff he did before James came on stage. Because of this, and I know it sounds weird, I feel like I know Diren even though I don’t! It made joining Project X a no-brainer for me. I knew I would be able to relate to him.

My starting weight was 12st 2 and I set myself the following targets:

-To be under 11st, 10st 7 would be good!
-To train a minimum of 4 times a week, one session to be a run - to try and get a 5k pb of under 31:17

I was motivated and raring to go and the first couple of weeks were fine, I had lost 3lb and feeling chuffed with myself. I was even enjoying getting my 10k steps in and my husband joined me as well - he is now regularly smashing 15k steps a day. The routine of training each day came back to me quickly and I felt more in control.

But then things started to go backwards with my eating - I just couldn’t stop and nearly every day i would reach for the biggest bar of chocolate I could find, meaning that I was eating more than double my allowance each day! I don’t mind admitting that between start of week 3 and the end of week 5 I struggled and covid wasn’t helping either! I emailed Diren and explained I am going through the menopause and I can’t understand why I can ‘dig deep’ with regards to getting my steps and training done but not stop myself from stuffing my face! He replied saying what, if I am honest, I already knew, that I was probably boredom eating and don’t have food in the house that tempts me.

So I take his words on board and go through the kitchen cupboards and remove all the calorie dense food that wasn’t doing me any good. Did that help? Not at that point no, in fact on the daily accountability form at the end of week 5 in the box that says what are you going to do tomorrow, I responded with ‘I don’t know, I’m struggling’. What I really meant was ‘sod it, I know I am going to go on to Lifestyle, only got 2 weeks to go so not going to worry about calories anymore’ (meaning gonna eat what I fancy!)

And then the lightbulb moment happened - once I had taken the pressure off myself about worrying about my calorie intake, I have been able to manage my calories an awful lot better. Do I stay in calorie deficit every day? No I don’t, but I also don’t go crazy over my calories- and if I do, well it’s ok because I know tomorrow is another day where I can run a bit faster, walk a few more steps or skip a few more single unders to compensate.

Did I meet my goals? Only 1 - the number of times per week I trained.

BUT I am proud myself for sticking with it because without Diren and all the Project X guys things would be a whole lot worse!

Even though I found the majority of the 8 weeks tough, tracking my calories no matter how high, still kept me accountable and I’ve realised I need to keep this going.

Walking 10k steps a day is a habit I’ll keep and who knows, maybe I’ll out-step my husband in the coming months!

The lives help enormously - Diren is honest, funny and creates good banter on the chat! The Facebook group is amazing, all lovely people who are all going in the same direction and are there to support and encourage each other.

Diren has, and is continuing to, work incredibly hard to enhance his website - I love the exercises and different leaderboards that have been recently added.

After YEARS of trying various well-known commercial diet programmes, an NHS programme, getting a PT and dealing with injuries alongside mental health problems, I found myself throughout lockdown the heaviest I've ever been.  I had followed Diren for a while and was dubious about how a coach could help me when he's online and we've never met.  But Diren took me seriously from day one and told me the kinds of things I could do with his support, the most important thing being his accountability.  So I signed up.


8 weeks later and I have now begun my long weight loss journey.  -11lb down and -35cm.  I have a long way to go and have signed up to the next project X.  Diren holds you accountable but also works with you to challenge your mindset and to give up the all or nothing attitude that so often causes us to fall off the wagon and never try again.  The workout videos that he shares with us are great (as are the recipes!) but the best thing is the interaction with him.  Diren always replies to any emails that you send him with genuine advice and support, and if you ask him to give you a boot up the butt for motivation he will do that too.  The check-in and Q&A twice per week are great to listen to others but you get the most out of it if you ask questions and get involved yourself.  Don't be start struck or shy - Diren is down to earth and wants his clients to get results.


After years of searching I've found that I had the tools that I needed all along - what I needed was a coach like Diren to unlock that knowledge, push and motivate me and encourage me whilst at the same time not cutting me slack and allowing me to give up on myself.  His message of consistency and accountability is strangely not something that is seen elsewhere but is so important to get results.  There is success in simplicity, and Diren makes it as simple as possible for his clients - if you follow his guidance, you will get results.  No two ways about it.


I'm now more active than I was, making better choices with food and seeing this as a journey to better health, improved strength and better mindset.  This is no quick fix and you only get out what you put in.  Having someone like Diren by your side to guide you is just what the doctor ordered!

I am finding it helpful to have a calorie goal to guide me but of course there are days when it goes out the window. Diren has been great at making sure guilt isn’t a part of Project X. Went over your calorie goal? Missed a workout? Didn’t get all your steps in? No guilt - start fresh tomorrow. The check-ins, leaderboards and group zoom calls provide accountability and boost motivation to keep doing well, so when you have moments that take you off course, it’s easy to get back on track because you want to and you have the right tools.

I’ve lost 10kg over the course of Project X 2.0 and am looking forward to continuing my progress in 4.0.

I highly recommend Project X and Diren’s fun and professional guidance to anyone who wants to become more knowledgeable and proactive in making positive, lasting changes to their lifestyle.

I am deeply grateful for the Project X!! For what you put into it and what I got out of it.

It has really educated me, given me a framework and structure at a really challenging time, helped me develop a beautiful new habit (hello 10,000 steps around Stokey every morning) but most importantly given me the confidence to implement the knowledge I have gained moving forward, particularly now I understand much more about my challenges and the obstacles I put in my way. I also feel stronger physically and emotionally 🙂

The rest of the group were lovely and the team spirit was great. The weekly check in's and Q&A's were fun and informative. You have an amazing energy and the desire you have to truly support people and help them do the best that they can do really shines through. I found some of the experiences you shared about your fitness journey to be particularly helpful (how long you had to count calories for specifically).

Project X helped me realise that consistency, accountability are key, but that it is progress not perfection I am aiming for and to have compassion for myself when I didn't do as well as I wanted, but fire in my belly to try and get it right the next day.

I joined Project X 1.0 with the expectation of getting my motivation back after a knee procedure in October, then knee surgery in December. While I tried to push through, I lost nearly all drive to do what I loved doing for so long and inevitably gained weight during this time.

Fast forward to March of this year. I was trying to get myself to get back into the gym but was struggling. Stress at work, embarrassment from the weight I gained, timid being on the weight floor for the first time. I had done CrossFit for 3 years prior to all this, but there was no way I was jumping right back into that. I needed to rehab my knee properly. I had been receiving Diren’s emails and had wanted to train with him for a good while, but it just wasn’t feasible. Then I received his email about Project X 1.0.

I signed up, completed the program, and got almost everything I expected. An incredible trainer, accountability, daily check ins, and a good training program. In these 8 weeks, I’ve lost 5.5 inches (13.97cm) and 8 pounds. I gained so much knowledge, accountability in counting my calories, getting my #neatup247, and the biggest, my motivation. What I didn’t expect was the incredible community of people from literally all around the world who I call my friends. They’ve become my people. Ones who I can open up to, talk about anything with, and know they’ve got my back from thousands of miles away.

What an indescribable experience it has been and every single part has been worth it. When you become emotional at the end of an experience like this you know you’ve been impacted deeply by some incredible people and an amazing trainer.
